Copernicus CAMS Catalogue & the Map Viewer

Project details

The European Centre for medium-range weather forecasts (ECMWF) is an international organization, specialised in weather forecasts and in the study of the atmosphere.
ECMWF manages the atmosphere monitoring service (CAMS) on behalf of Copernicus, the environment monitoring Programme, sponsored by the European Commission.
COMMpla has designed and produced for ECMWF the new Catalogue of data and services and the Map viewer, to view and use interactive maps. Users with any level of experience -researchers, policy makers or ordinary citizens- will be able to use the Catalogue to access data in a simple and fast way, viewing and analysing the maps without the need to use specialised tools. The Map Viewer also allows viewing the evolution of data over time (animation tool).
COMMpla also developed the Map Manager, being the tool employed to create the maps. The interactive maps can be embedded within website content, just like if they were videos or images, making geographical data usable with ease by non-expert users too.
